Hooks and Straps
Plastic hooks, as shown below, are used to link the strap to the pedestal bottom plates. The tip of the hook is 10 mm wide, and the bottom side of the hook is 30 mm wide with a rectangular hole (25.6 mm x 10 mm) at 10 mm from the bottom edge of the hook. One inch (25.4 mm) wide nylon elastic straps are used and looped through the hole. The strap will then be stitched to a closed loop so the strap will remain fixed to the hook. The other end of the strap will also be looped onto another hook so the strap can be hooked onto the pedestal assemblies on either side of the head. The straps have unit widths of 25.4 mm and thicknesses of 1.397 mm. The three straps are elastic with regular lengths of 200 mm, 250 mm, and 250 mm. 25 mm on each end of the strap will be used to create the loop around the hook. The nylon material can stretch to increase in length by 30 mm to accommodate for a variety of head sizes. To cater to head sizes that require different strap lengths, we will provide additional sets of straps at lengths from 140 mm, 170 mm, 230 mm, 260 mm, and 290 mm in addition to the straps at 200 mm and 250 mm at an additional cost. The shorter strap of length 200 mm is to be hooked such that it crosses the patient’s forehead. The straps of length 250 mm stretch across the back of the head and under the chin.
